Born and raised in Paris, the Norwegian director was originally an outdoor nomad, traveling up to 250 days a year following whatever seasons and sport that led him. He was introduced to filmmaking when a friend gave him a Bolex 16mm camera to document his travels and the people he encountered. Wherever he lands on the planet, Rostrup uses nature as the backdrop to shape richly textured human narratives. His ability to get up-close with his subjects launched a directing career that took Rostrup around the globe documenting the action sports he loves, in visually stunning outdoor locations. Rostrup continues his journey blending his passion for nature and human stories.
